CIHR awards funds retroactively…

Dr. Alain Beaudet, CIHR President, released a statement today announcing that recipients of CIHR Operating Grants awarded in Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 will be receiving a one-time financial supplement. The payout is to support CIHR’s commitment to reducing cutbacks on successful grant applications, which reached a high of 22% several years ago. Today’s announcement will reduce the average cutback from the relevant competitions from an average of 14% to 11%. Grant holders should watch for letters from CIHR, which will be sent out shortly according to the announcement.
